Next June 6th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., EXPOCINE and Los Angeles Entertainment Services (LAES) promote webinar FILM COMMISIONS: Sharing experiences, overcoming obstacles and driving internationalization.
The event will bring Brazilian and international film commissions specialists, with the aim of expanding knowledge about its operation and its importance for the local economy and the audiovisual sector worldwide.

The first film commission in the world was created in the United States in the late 1940s, in response to the need for film productions to have a public representative who coordinated local issues related to filming. Over time and the development of the audiovisual industry, they have spread throughout the world. Today, in addition to providing assistance with local bureaucratic actions, film commissions provide several services that are very important to producers and are responsible for incentive actions for filming, as well as programs to encourage production and promotion of local labor.
According to the National Cinema Agency (Ancine), the Value Added from audiovisual to the Brazilian economy surpasses that of pharmaceutical, textile and electronic equipment industries. There are about 13,000 companies, 300,000 jobs generated and R$25 billion a year.
An audiovisual production moves and brings benefits to various sectors of the economy of a city. On average, the proportion of expenditures of a project is divided into 33% in the audiovisual sector itself and 67% in others*, being: administrative services (12%), construction (11%), travel and transport (8%), food and accommodation (6%), legal, fashion, energy, safety, health and others (30%).

To get an idea of the impact of a production on a city, study of Spcine identified that in the capital of São Paulo, for each R$1 invested in the production of a film or series, the audiovisual sector has an average return of more than R$20, and public coffers receive back R$1.09.
