The significant growth in the number of national audiovisual productions translates into multiple titles and genres. At the same time, through digital platforms national productions travel automatically to dozens, sometimes hundreds of territories.
The combination of these factors requires platforms, programmers and producers of national content to observe international parameters for the feasibility of using third-party content (such as excerpts from other films, photographs, music, image and people's names, besides brands, etc.), while Brazilian legislation imposes specific criteria and challenges in this sense.
On 21/9, at 11 a.m., the CQS/FV Advogados office presents at Expocine (Sala Spine - Cine Marquise) the panel "The challenge of using third-party content: Clearance in audiovisual". As Brazilian legislation and recent judicial decisions impact the activity of releasing these contents in audiovisual works in Brazil, what are the main care and points of attention to be observed and how different formats and genres are impacted are issues to be addressed.
The panel is attended by the director, screenwriter and executive producer Maurício Eça, executive producer Bianca Corona and the lawyer and consultant of clarity, music and entertainment Alessandro Amadeu. The moderation will be by José Maurício Fittipaldi, partner of the CQS/FV and president of the Media, Entertainment and Culture Commission of OAB/SP.
