
Latin America's largest film business convention, EXPOCINE started yesterday, October 8, its 11th edition and began a diverse program that, until Friday, the 11th, will address in lectures, panels and workshops on the new reality of the Brazilian audiovisual market and the demands for the future. The opening, held at the Cine Marquise in São Paulo, brought together market professionals and exhibitionists, as well as important names of the audiovisual segment, such as Leandro Pardi, Superintendent of Innovation and Audiovisual Policies of Spcine, one of the supporters of the event.
"Spcine is a film and audiovisual company linked to City Hall. It has existed since 2016 and since the first year supports EXPOCINE, precisely because it understands that exchange spaces such as this are fundamental for our existence and for the sector. It will be an honor to share our news with all of you," Pardi commented on the importance of EXPOCINE's panels and content for the development and growth of the sector.
Marcelo Lima, creator and organizer of EXPOCINE, highlighted that in this edition the convention is aligned with the resumption of the sector.
"We begin our work for this edition on the first Monday after EXPOCINE 23 to bring the best content. This year, together with the exhibitors, we managed to double the size of the business fair, so we are returning to pre-pandemic levels of business generation. This year, we also had a record of distributors wanting to present their news to the market display. Special attention will be paid to national cinema, where we will have a strong presence of high quality productions on film screens for the next few months."

To close the opening day of the event, H2O Filmes opened the presentations of distributors, which will also take place in the Barco do Cine Marquise room, presenting first hand to the Brazilian market its line-up of releases for the end of the year and already anticipating news for 2025.
EXPOCINE Decupa
During Tuesday, the 2nd edition of EXPOCINE Decupa took place, which brought together students and professionals who are interested or already working in the audiovisual sector for chats with the various professionals responsible for the Brazilian animation "Arca de Noé". The film premieres only on November 7 in the theaters.
Following a program specially designed for the participants, the present watched 15 unpublished minutes of the long and could know in detail the main stages of production work, from script, production and distribution to soundtrack and dubbing. Among the invited speakers, was the director Sérgio Machado, who told some curiosities about the design of the project, which is already considered the greatest national animation in history.
"The idea has always been to bring a tribute to Vinicius (de Moraes) on screen, who would live up to his weight for Brazilian culture, with much Brazilianity, but at the same time that it was also universal. And the biggest proof that we have achieved is that the film has been sold to more than 70 countries even before its release. ", commented.
