Displays, producers and distributors gathered in 4 days of event to check news and discuss the future of the sector
The Expocine 24 closed its schedule on Friday, October 11, with a ceremony in the late afternoon at Cine Marquise, in São Paulo. Gathering audiovisual professionals in four days, the event celebrated the success of its 11th edition, which this year was expanded, with 50 panelists invited, two floors of the business fair with about 70 exhibitors and more than two thousand subscribers. In addition, the present gave the traditional tributes to companies in the distribution, production and display segment for the work and excellence dedicated to the industry.
"Thank you for these four intense days. Making a retrospective since the beginning of the fair, we had 14 distributors presenting their line-ups, 14 panels in the Spcine room, 6 workshops in the Ancine room, more than 70 brands exhibited at the business fair, Expocine Decupa itself, which was when we started our work on Tuesday, in addition to our honorees today.", commented Marcelo Lima, organizer of Expocine.
This time, four companies received the Expocine trophy. In the distribution segment, the event recognized the work and performance of Paris Filmes, represented by CEO Marcio Fraccaroli, and also of DOWNTOWN FILMES, with partner and CEO Bruno Wainer. Both received the trophy from Marcelo Lima, CEO of TONKS/Expocine.
In the production area, the Plastic Films was recognized for 15 years of history in the audiovisual produced in Minas Gerais. Maurílio Martins, one of the producer's founding partners, went on stage to receive the award from journalist Barbara Demerov.
And in the exhibition market, Cine Roxy, located in Santos, was highlighted for its 90 years of existence and its tradition in Baixada Santista. To receive the tribute, film director Toninho Campos had the presence of Marcos Araújo, one of his longtime friends.
The closing ceremony also received the presence of Spcine's president, Lyara Oliveira, who stressed the importance of the convention for the audiovisual market in the country.
"Being here is a great joy. We've had days of a lot of exchange, business, knowledge, established partnerships. And that's what we believe, that the audiovisual ecosystem depends on events and meetings like these so that people can relate, more business happens and all connections flow better."
On this last day, closing the schedule of activities, the public can check two chats. The first of them addressed the influence of social networks in the consumption of cinema and the second brought to the center of the conversation the film audience, to talk about their experiences in the cinema. The Movies Show, Warner Bros. Discovery and Universal also completed the presentations, bringing the main releases of line-up 2024/2025.
With the program divided between Cine Marquise and Renaissance Hotel, visitors were still able to check out the last day of the business fair with more than 70 exhibitors and many brands of services and products presenting their main novelties for the markets of exhibition, distribution and film production.
