On Wednesday, October 1st, the first day of EXPOCINE's programming, Latin America's largest film business convention, counted on the news from the line up 2025/2026 of the distributors Gullane, Disney, O2 Play, Sony Pictures, ELO Studios and Diamond Films. Disney also presented firsthand to the market the film "Mauricio de Sousa - The Movie", released from the studio scheduled for October 23. ELO brought to its presentation the special appearance of actress Klara Browno, star of the long "#SalveRosa", who also arrives at the cinemas on October 23rd.

Among the lectures, which took place in the auditorium of the Renaissance Hotel, one of the highlights was the debate Brazil, Window to the World, central theme of this 12th edition of the event that has already guaranteed more than 2,300 registrations, adding the realization of Decupa and only the first day of convention. Daniela Fernandes, Director of Preservation and Audiovisual Dissemination of the Department of Audiovisual at the Ministry of Culture, who was one of the participants of the chat, stressed that the presence in festivals, but also local dissemination, are the first steps for Brazilian audiovisual productions to have international visibility.

"We participate in numerous festivals, we are present in various awards to strengthen our country's brand in audiovisual. We were in Cannes and Berlin, and it was very important. But our Brazilian content also needs to occupy the internal space for this to boost the international market. Having relevance in its internal market is one of the trivial that the international market looks to embrace a production from another country." commented.

The popularization of the K-dramas in Brazil and how the massive investment of South Korea in the audiovisual sector can serve as an example for the Brazilian market was also one of the conversations guided on Wednesday, in the panel K-Dramas: How they took over Brazil. . For Victor Sato, general manager of Sato Company, immediate public exchange and new media are currently essential to understanding the market and opportunities for public growth.

"Before, back in 2012, when we bet on the Winter Sonata - one of the first k-dramas to be distributed by Sato in Netflix Brazil - we didn't have as much access to fandom opinion as we do today. We went straight to the producer and asked for audience numbers in Asia and analyses of how certain products might interest the Latin American public. But now, even before a product is released, we have already received immediate feedback. Many times because the audience already knows the cast that will be, or that some group is part of the soundtrack. So, this return becomes an essential filter for us to know what's important to bring here." He's got it.

Throughout the day, the 10 years of Spcine, the challenges of audiovisual exhibition and distribution in Latin America, the present space for artistic risks in productions and the importance of training professionals in the sector completed the meetings. On the other hand, in the workshop schedule, located in the exhibition hall of Cine Marquise, the public can participate in two activities, which addressed the main legal institutes applicable to audiovisual production and also the main impacts of tax reform in the sector.

With the theme "Brazil, Window to the World", EXPOCINE will promote until October 3rd, at the Cine Marquise and the Hotel Renaissance, conversations and debates about the historical moment that Brazilian cinema currently lives, consolidating itself as a showcase for the world and opening windows of opportunities for the mobilization and growth of the audiovisual sector in the country and Latin America. There are more than 25 exhibitors, 23 sponsors, 30 supporters, 14 distributors presenting content, three exclusive exhibitions, 15 discussion panels, five workshops, totaling more than 40 hours of content.

The fourth lot of credentials "FORM", which guarantees access to the panels, lectures, training workshops and fair, and "STANDARD", which allows entry to the fair, are still available Here..
