EXPOCINE's third day of programming, the largest film business convention in Latin America, had relevant discussions that represent an important step of the audiovisual industry in Brazil. The auditorium of the Renaissance Hotel received a debate on sustainable cinema, presented by Escarlate Studio, which is developing two audiovisual works about the Brazilian activist Chico Mendes. The conversation brought more details about the Chico Vive platform, an entertainment ecosystem with socio-environmental impact and counted on the presence of actor Bruno Gagliasso, one of the producers and part of the cast of fictional cinematography that is in production.

Paulo Albuquerque, an advisor to ESG from Embratur, a project supporter, commented on how cinema and tourism, together, can contribute to the environmental preservation of a region so rich in biodiversity.

"Joining audiovisual with the stimulus to tourism, when well promoted can have a very important impact of preserving and respecting our natural and cultural resources, generating employment and income, and also helping the North region develop. Tourism is a very important way to do this and without a project like this it would be difficult to show, especially for international tourists, how much we have to offer."

Another highlight addressed on the day was the strength of kinebiographies, gender that is gaining more and more space in Brazil. Silvio Guindane, director of the long 'Mussum, o Filmis', stressed how instigating it is to adapt to the telones the story of a person so loved by a legion of fans.

"It is a great challenge because we have the expectation of those who will watch, it is as complex as adapting a best seller, for example. We need to believe our point of view, but we still have the generosity to give the fan what he expects with that character. I am sure that what holds also the viewer who may not be 100% contemplated by this idol on the screen is to bring or deepen something that this spectator does not know. Humanizing this person, we have a big pass to win the game in making a movie that's palatable."

The importance of federal incentives for the sector, impact of public policies on promoting diversity and inclusion in cinema, the challenges posed by the new projector rental business model and the rise of True Crime productions completed EXPOCINE's chats on Thursday.

In the programme of distributors, Cine Marquise's day also brought news from O2 Play, Sony Pictures, Club Films and Diamond Films, which shared with the market displayer their next releases for the telonas. Disney ended the day of performances with the presence of Marcos Mion, protagonist of the film "MMA - My Best Friend", which arrives at the theaters in January 2025.
