Continuing the dissemination of the Expocine 2020, today the highlight is to the panel "Piratearia no Contexto Mundial e Nacional", a table that will be composed by Andressa Pappas (director of the MPA - Motion Picture Association), Marcelo Goyanes (da Murta Goyanes Lawyers and representative of producers in the technical chamber to combat piracy of the Ancine) and Jonas Antunes (Regulatory Legal Director of ABTA - Brazilian Association of Subscription Television).
In moderation of Tânia Lima, da Brazilian Video Games Union (UBV&G), the table will deal with the actions that each entity is taking to combat this illegal practice. The debate also aims to address how the global market is acting against piracy in the current pandemic scenario.
Piracy has always been a concern for the audiovisual sector and the problem only increases with social isolation when consumption and interest in home entertainment are growing. "2020 has accelerated the consolidation of the online universe, which becomes increasingly present in our daily lives. This digitisation tends to stimulate the consumption of pirated content. So it is important to understand what this new world will be like and what the representative entities in our sector are doing to mitigate the impacts of piracy," explains Marcelo J. L. Lima.
