The opening ceremony of the 12th edition of EXPOCINE, the largest Latin American convention in the film and audiovisual industry, took place on Tuesday, October 30, at Sala Barco, Cine Marquise, in São Paulo. The event was attended by the municipal secretary of Culture and Creative Economy of São Paulo, Totó Parente; the assistant secretary of Creative Economy, Rodrigo Massi, the president of SPcine, Lyara Oliveira, the secretary of Culture, Economy and Creative Industries of the State Government of São Paulo, Marília Marton, and the director of Audiovisual Preservation and Dissemination of the Department of Audiovisual, Daniela Fernandes. The ceremony was marked by the already traditional award delivery to the honorees of this edition, which recognized the work of the companies that stood out in recent years in the exhibition, distribution and production sectors. The tribute, this year, also featured two novelties among the award-winning categories: manufacturers/providers segments and public management.

"It is with great satisfaction that we participate in the opening of the 12th edition of EXPOCINE, at such a rich moment for national cinema, with the consolidation of a work done by filmmakers, by producers, over these last years with the coronation of the Brazilian audiovisual market, with awards in Berlin, Oscar and São Paulo. In this scenario, we will proudly announce, which we approve today, at the meeting of the Audiovisual Sector Fund, that we will launch, by the end of the year, the biggest announcement in the history of promoting São Paulo audiovisual at all times. It will be over 140 million for production, distribution, and certain audiovisual activities. That's a cause of great honor and great pride. We want to celebrate the partnership with EXPOCINE and the entire sector of the Brazilian creation industry. I wish you all had an excellent fair," celebrated Totó Parente.

Marcelo Lima, CEO of Tonks and Expocine, welcomed the presents and has already advanced the date of Expocine 2026, as well as news.

"I want to thank our supporters and sponsors. A special thank you to our public agents, the City Hall of São Paulo, SPcine, the Secretariat of Creative Economy. Thank you so much for coming to our event. Logically, everyone knows how much Tonks organizes and prepares to perform the Expocine and we are pleased to now advance some dates for you, first of all from Expocine 2026. The date is confirmed from September 29 to October 2, 2026. The big news is that we're moving from the convention center. Given the requests for more space from exhibitors, we had a great opportunity to close a partnership with Center 3 complex in a space twice the size we have today and thus more space to receive our exhibitors and more comfort to welcome our visitors who only grow every issue. With this, I declare the Expocine 2025 open, with many negotiations, lectures and content."
